About The Lark House

The House dates from the 1860s and is one of Daylesford's oldest homes. Originally known as Mrs Black's Guest House, it has an interesting history and is well-known by locals. In recent years the owners of Lark have transformed the House into a stunning family home that has featured in many design blogs and magazines, including The Design Files and Apartment Therapy,  Australian Country Style, Frankie and The Herald Sun.

The House is in central Daylesford, just 2 minutes walk from bustling Vincent Street with its cafés, gourmet food and cute shops. Daylesford is 1.2 hours from Melbourne and just an hour from Melbourne International Airport.

What's inside?

The Lark House offers contemporary comforts like iPod docks, Nintendo Wii, flat-screen televisions and Smeg appliances, and is decorated in a quirky and cosy 'modern vintage' style. Allison and Paul have filled the house with treasures from their travels and locally-sourced vintage finds, from old school maps and travel posters, to vintage wallpapers and mismatched china. Lovers of Lark's nostalgic, homely style will have a ball at The Lark House!

Guests are welcomed with a hamper of seasonal local provisions, wood for the fire and lots of suggestions for enjoying Daylesford and the other country towns nearby.

The house has a large living and dining area, full kitchen, 'parent's retreat' with separate living area, wood fire, outdoor deck, and ensuite shower room, three further bedrooms that can be set up as single or double/king beds, a large central bathroom, full laundry, verandahs and outdoor eating areas, garden studio, large garden and plenty of parking space.
